Ty is a highly experienced and imaginative Chartered Architectural Technologist and Chartered Engineer, with over 30 years of expertise across all sectors of the built environment. His professional journey began with hands-on roles at some of Europe’s leading construction firms, equipping him with a grounded, practical understanding of how buildings come together—from concept to completion.
Ty’s dual expertise in architecture and structural engineering enables him to bridge the gap between visionary design and technical feasibility. This integrated approach ensures that every project is not only visually compelling but also structurally sound, cost-effective, energy-efficient, and buildable. He believes that architecture must be driven by both creative intent and engineering clarity—maximising the potential of a site while minimising waste and inefficiency.
An early adopter of Building Information Modelling (BIM), Ty embraced digital project simulation long before it became industry standard. He is highly skilled in 3D modelling, energy analysis, visualisation, and animation—tools he uses to test ideas, challenge assumptions, and clearly communicate solutions to clients and collaborators.
Ty is known for his ability to think beyond the obvious and deliver elegant, optimised designs on even the most technically constrained sites. Since 2012, he has partnered with some of London’s top developers on a wide range of residential projects, acting as Lead Designer from early strategy and concept design through to technical development, construction oversight, and final delivery.
In 2019, Ty relocated his core practice to the Cotswolds to focus more closely on bespoke residential work. His portfolio spans residential, commercial, mixed-use, and leisure projects in both public and private sectors. His recent emphasis on engineering-led design thinking strengthens his ability to balance creative ambition with structural logic—offering clients a seamless, interdisciplinary approach to delivering high-performing, beautiful buildings.
